7/5/09

The fourth of July was pretty nice here in King Cove - there was a bike parade in the morning for the kids with bikes and wagons decorated and lots of awards, games for the kids at the church field, a picnic, a duck race (numbered rubber duckies with people buying a number to see who wins), and a tug of war. There was a wedding in the evening (not a 4th of July event) and fireworks at about midnight.
I saw the fireworks on the way back from the ER. We had a string of 4 patients yesterday evening that kept us busy. It wasn't bad, though, I expected more business, actually.
It'll be pretty busy in the clinic this week, I think. It's me and a community health aide seeing patients this week. I tend to see the folks with insurance and some of the more involved cases and the community health aide does a lot of the routine stuff.
Pics are of the parade, the Rollo (a former DC boat from a couple seasons ago) and a chocolate lily along the shore.

Nice pics. We are still in Whittier. Maybe we will get a chance to come back out to Akutan again.

Cute pictures of the kids bike parade. The Rollo awesome I wondered if it was still fishing, thought it was. Wow what a gorgeous flower Is the Chocolate Lily native to that area? I don't think I have ever seen a lily with that type of coloring. Have a great day.
